Bad Company, by the band of the same name, was written by Paul Rodgers and Simon Kirke. The songs lyrics are about outlaws and gunmen, reflecting the American popular cultures fascination with the Old West era. It was released in 1974 on the bands debut album, also titled Bad Company. The band named themselves after seeing a book on the East India Company, reflecting themes of partnership and camaraderie.

Company, always on the run
Destiny, oooh, is the rising sun
I was born, six gun in my hand
Behind the gun, I make my final stand
That’s why they call me
Bad company,
Oh, I can’t deny
Bad, Bad company
Till the day I die 2x
Re bel souls, deserters we are called
Chose a gun, and threw away the sun
Now these towns, they all know our name
Six gun sound, is our claim to fame
I can hear them say
Bad company,
On and on we ride
Ba d
Till the day I die x2
