Story Of My Life

Well it′s a dog eared, worn down, leather brown book
Sitting bottom shelf, but still worth a look
Flip through the pages find something you like
Some wild ass tales and too many Bud Lights
Straight to the point, ain′t no beating 'round the bush
A few sad chapters and mean left hooks
Starts a little slow, I ain't got to the end
But here's where I′m at, along with where I been

Hell, I′m tired of playin' songs that ain′t mine at night
So I turn on the TV, drink some whiskey on ice
Check the weather channel for the next storm
And when it's gonna roll through
I pray, I work real hard, I put in long days
I read the good book in the morning, I can′t find my name
Everybody wants to tell me "son, it's gonna be just fine"
It′s highs and lows, that's the story of my life

Well, it's some tall tale tells about a fishin' ponds
Crank bait, country bitties, and a few buckshot′s
Making mistakes in Bloomfield, Nebraska
g
Country fairs, dog dares, and fisticuffs
Sending dumb ass texts when I drink too much

And how I′m tired of playin' songs that ain′t mine at night
So I turn on the TV, drink some whiskey on ice
Check the weather channel for the next storm
And when it's gonna roll through
I pray, I work real hard, I put in long days
I read the good book in the morning, I can′t find my name
Everybody wants to tell me "son, it's gonna be just fine"
It′s highs and lows, that's the story of my life

Can′t erase a page that′s in black ink
Gotta make something happen, so I'm starting to sing

That I′m tired of playin' songs that ain′t mine at night
So I turn on the TV, drink some whiskey on ice
Check the weather channel for the next storm
And when it's gonna roll through
I pray, I work real hard, I put in long days
I read the good book in the morning, I can′t find my name
Everybody wants to tell me "son, it's gonna be just fine"
It′s highs and lows, that's the story of my life

It′s highs and lows, that's the story of my life
