Letra de
That Old Delaval

We had to care for three old milk cows daily
They swaggered when they walked, doing their A moo
Every morning every night regular you see
No matter what else we had to do
Brown Swiss, Jersey and Holstein
Big old mammas their bags dragging the ground
They had to be milked if you know what I mean
Twice a day, thats where I could be found
Fat, wide tails would slap me in the eye
Maybe a heavy hoof on a sore bare toe
Squirt the cat in the face, on the sly
Humming and singing as we go
Pour that milk in the old De- Laval
Crank it into a rich, rich cream
Seven days to fill a five gallon can-now
It all seems like a dream
Take the can to town on Saturday night
Old man Roemers Creamery gave us our pay
A dime for popcorn and a show at the site
Twenty cents for a gallon of gas for the old Model A
Those were the days during WW Two
I was only about ten
Every family had war support to do
We all worked together back then
Crankin cream out of that old De -Laval
It seemed so hard to do then
But oh how I yearn for those times now
Only memories can take me back again
