Body aches and sleepless nights
Bills piled up to the sky
Got kids that go to school,
Needs food, needs shoes and a better life
Another day of clocking in
Overworked overtime again
Life′s hard it don't make sense
There′s no reason to the rhyme
She wakes up, thanks the good Lord for her blessings
Her gray hair from her stressing
Never brings her down
She stays strong, carries on
Plants her roots down in this ground
All this weight upon her shoulders
She won't let this house get
Colder
Check to check she works till dawn
Rents behind but the lights are on
Works six days she don't complain
How she leaves the kids at home
Dads been gone for seven years
She′s given up on crying tears
She keeps going and it′s showing,
She's still holding on
She wakes up, thanks the good Lord for her blessings
Her gray hair from her stressing
Never brings her down
She stays strong, carries on
Plants her roots down in this ground
All this weight upon her shoulders
She won't let this house get
Colder
She knows they'll be alright
She still prays every night
For something in her life to change
She wakes up, thanks the good Lord for her blessings
Her gray hair from her stressing
Never brings her down
She stays strong, carries on
Plants her roots down in this ground
All this weight upon her shoulders
She won't let this house get
Colder
Any colder
