La canción Holding Out for a Hero fue escrita por Jim Steinman y Dean Pitchford para la película Footloose de 1984. La canción fue originalmente grabada por Bonnie Tyler para la banda sonora de la película. La canción también apareció en el álbum de Tyler, Secret Dreams and Forbidden Fire, en 1986. Holding Out for a Hero se inspiró en el concepto de un héroe romántico y retrató la búsqueda de un héroe en tiempos difíciles.
