Lyrics of
Vincent Paul Mcgrath - The Purpose And The Plan

Sometimes I lie and gaze out over the fields and wonder how and why
Seed-grains grow and flower, fade and return to seed reborn again each time they die

And so I seek to understand
The purpose and the plan
For it is coming clear to me
There is much we do not see

Maybe the crows know, how the grass grows
Who gave the flowers to the bees
Where the winds blow, who paints frost upon the windows
Do you ever gaze up at the trees and wonder what we were meant to be

Sometimes I lie and gaze out into the night and ponder who we are
Seed-grains planted in this mortal coil, we have travelled far

And so I seek to understand
The purpose and the plan
Why do we wander o’er this earth
What Is the reason for our birth

Maybe the stars know the reason we roam
and the restless urge that drives us on
Forever see - king in a world that stopped believing
Do ever gaze up at the stars and wonder who we are

Sometimes I lie and leave this world behind, and wander through the land of dreams
Old friends come to greet me, names I know so well, with tidings tongues can never tell

And so I seek to understand
The purpose and the plan
I hear them calling on the wind
We walk with you till journey’s end

Maybe our hearts know It’s love that brings hope
Amidst the darkness and the pain
That humankind - ness, in a world that’s lost in blindness
Do ever gaze out o’er the lands, and ponder at the fates of man

And so I seek to understand
The purpose and the plan
For answers blowing on the wind,
And battles we have yet to win

Maybe our souls hold, the lessons we’ve learned
And the questions we have yet to ask
How long’s the jour - ney, how many lives before we break free
Do you ever fall upon your knees, and pray for eyes that we might see

And so I seek to understand
The purpose and the plan
