Lyrics of
So This Is Christmas

Happy Xmas (War Is Over) was written by John Lennon and Yoko Ono as a protest against the Vietnam War. The song was released in 1971 as part of a larger peace campaign. The phrase War is over! If you want it, was originally an advertising campaign with posters in major cities around the world in 1969.

So this is Christmas
And what have you done
Another year over
A new one just begun
And so this is Christmas
I hope you have fun
Your near and your dear ones
The old and the young

A very Merry Christmas
And a Happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear

And so this is Christmas
For weak and for strong
The rich and the poor ones
Have waited so long
And so happy Christmas
For black and for white
For yellow and red ones
Let's stop all the fight

A very Merry Christmas
And a Happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear

And so this is Christmas (war is over)
And what have we done
Another year over
And a new one just begun
And so happy Christmas
We hope you have fun
The near and the dear ones
The old and the young

A very Merry Christmas
And a Happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear

War is over if you want it
War is over now
War is over if you want it
War is over now
War is over if you want it
War is over now
