Lyrics of
Rudolph The Red-nosed Reindeer

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer was written in 1949 by Johnny Marks, based on the 1939 story created by Marks brother-in-law, Robert L. May, for the Montgomery Ward department store. The story was about a young red-nosed reindeer who used his unique feature to light the way for Santa Claus during a snowstorm, ultimately earning the admiration of his fellow reindeer.

Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer
Had a very shiny nose
And if you ever saw it
You would even say it glows
All of the other reindeer
Used to laugh and call him names
They never let poor Rudolph
Play in any reindeer games

Then one foggy Christmas Eve
Santa came to say
Rudolph with your nose so bright
Won't you guide my sleigh tonight

Then how the reindeer loved him
As they shouted out with glee
Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer
You'll go down in history
