The window slams shut at about half past six
The wind has pushed it down
As I'm staring at the ground
And I’m aware that I’m not falling back asleep today
But the flyers blew away
Flying through a smog filled sky
And now the clocks are ticking fast
Water from a hose
Pouring down the road
Rest easy my friend
There’s an unlit match I left in the corner of the room
Picking up the match and
Lighting it to walk through the dark
And open up the door to the world outside
But the water level rose
Submerging a patch of grass that had plans to grow tall
And now the clocks are ticking fast
Birds sit on a wire
Chirping the most unpleasant tunes
I've heard millions of times before
And now the clocks are ticking fast
And the clocks are ticking fast
