Lyrics of
Moon River

Moon River was composed by Henry Mancini with lyrics by Johnny Mercer, becoming famous for its performance by Audrey Hepburn in the 1961 movie Breakfast at Tiffanys. The inspiration for the song came from Mancinis childhood in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, near the Monongahela River. Mercer and Mancini collaborated frequently, and Moon River was awarded the Oscar for Best Original Song.

Moon River wider than a mile
I'm crossing you in style some day
Oh dream maker you heart breaker
Wherever you’re going I’m going your way
Two drifters off to see the world
There's such a lot of world to see
We're af--ter the same rainbows end
Waiting round the bend
My huckleberry friend
Moon River. .and me
(Repeat if you like)
Oh dream maker you heart breaker
Wherever you’re going I’m going your way
Two drifters off to see the world
There's such a lot of world to see
We're af--ter the same rainbows end
Waiting round the bend
My huckleberry friend
Moon River and me
