Lyrics of
Just As I Am

Just As I Am was written by Charlotte Elliott in 1835, reflecting her struggle with illness and her response to the question of how a sick person could find God. She composed these words as an expression of her faith and conversion, addressing Gods unconditional acceptance. William B. Bradbury added the tune in 1849, making it widely popular in religious events, including Billy Grahams ministry.

Ju-st as I am, with - out one plea,
But that Thy blood was shed for me,
And that Thou bidd'st me come to Thee,
O Lamb of God, I come! I come!

Ju-st as I am, and wait - ing not,
To rid my soul of one dark blot,
To Thee whose blood can clease each spot,
O Lamb of God, I come! I come!

Ju-st as I am, though tossed a - bout,
With many a con - flict, many a doubt,
Fight-ings and fears with-in, with-out,
O Lamb of God, I come! I come!

Ju-st as I am, Thou wilt re -ceive,
Wilt wel -come, par - don, cleanse, re - lieve,
Be - cause Thy prom - ise I be - lieve,
O Lamb of God, I come! I come!
