Lyrics of
Free Bird

Free Bird is a song by the American rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd. It was first written by Allen Collins and later completed by Ronnie Van Zant. It appears on the bands debut album, (Pronounced Lĕh-nérd Skin-nérd), and quickly became one of the bands most popular songs. The song is known for its extended guitar solo at the end and is considered a rock anthem. Moreover, it is often associated with freedom of expression and the 70s hippie movement.

If I leave here tomorrow
Would you still remember me?
For I must be travelling on now
Cos there's too many places I must see
If I stay here with you girl
Things just couldn't be the same
Cos I'm as free as a bird now
And this bird you cannot change
And this bird you cannot change
And this bird you cannot change
Lord knows I can't change
Bye bye, it's been a sweet love
Though this feeling I can't change
But please don't take it so badly
Cos the Lord knows I'm to blame

But if I stay here with you girl
Things just couldn't be the same
Cos I'm as free as a bird now
And this bird you cannot change oh oh oh
And this bird you cannot change
And this bird you cannot change
Lord knows I can't change
Lord help me I can't change
Lord I can't change
Oh I can't change
Fly high freebird oh yeah! . . .
