Feeling Good was written by English songwriters Anthony Newley and Leslie Bricusse for the 1964 musical The Roar of the Greasepaint – The Smell of the Crowd. The song quickly became a standard, covered and recorded by a wide range of artists, with Nina Simones version being among the most famous and acclaimed.
