Dream a Little Dream of Me was written by Fabian Andre and Wilbur Schwandt, with lyrics by Gus Kahn in 1931. It became a classic standard, but is particularly famous for the version recorded by Mama Cass with the group The Mamas & the Papas in 1968.
Stars shining bright above you Night breezes seem to whisper I love you Birds singing in the sycamore tree. Dream a little dream of me. Say nighty-night and kiss me Just hold me tight and tell me you'll miss me. While I'm alone, blue as can be, Dream a little dream of me.
Stars fading but I linger on, dear--- Still craving your kiss. I'm longing to linger till dawn, dear, Just saying this...
Sweet dreams till sunbeams find you--- Sweet dreams that leave all worries behind you. But in your dreams, whatever they be, Dream a little dream of me.
