The lyrics of Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star were written by English poet Jane Taylor in 1806, originally as the poem The Star. The melody is based on a famous 18th-century French tune called Ah! vous dirai-je, Maman, which was later arranged by various composers, including Mozart.
