The Show Must Go On

The Show Must Go On by Queen was mainly written by Brian May and deals with Freddie Mercurys ability to perform while facing his terminal illness. The lyrics reflect Mercurys determination to continue performing despite the challenges of his declining health. The song was released when Mercury was already seriously ill with AIDS, although his illness had only been publicly acknowledged shortly before his death in 1991. Brian May asked Mercury whe ... ther he could handle the song, given his condition, to which Mercury took a swig of vodka, said Ill fucking do it, darling! and delivered an impressive vocal performance.
