Ill Fly Away

Ill Fly Away was written in 1929 by Albert E. Brumley and has become one of the most recognized gospel hymns in the American evangelical tradition. Brumley was inspired by the secular song The Prisoners Song to create a hymn that expresses the Christian hope in the afterlife. The song has become a standard in both religious services and folk and country music performances.
