Give Thanks is a contemporary Christian song written by Henry Smith in 1978. Smith was inspired after reading the biblical passage 2 Corinthians 8:9 and during a challenging period in his life, when he was struggling with his visual impairment and could not find employment. The song became widely known and recorded after Don Moen used it on the Give Thanks album for Integrity Music in 1986.
