A Gothic band from Yugoslavia. 1) An early Swedish heavy/speed/doom metal band: They released a few demos and an EP, "The Day of Retribution", before becoming epic doom metal pioneers Candlemass. 2) Nemesis is a Bangladeshi rock band formed in 1999 by a group of school friends. After a few changes in the line-up during the initial years, the band started to gain ground within Dhaka's local music scene with their fluent performances, as it settled on to a permanent line-up with Zohad on vocals, Maher and Nondito on guitars, Ratul on bass and Yawar on drums. This earned them a spot in a 'mixed album' compilation tagged 'Agontuk-2' in 2003. Debuting with their first single 'Obocheton', Nemesis became an instant favorite among Dhaka's listeners which, in turn, led to a record deal with G-Series. During the recording of the album, their drummer Yawar had to leave and was replaced by Dio who worked on the rest of the album and their guitarist Nondito left soon after to be replaced by Omayr in 2005. Nemesis’ debut album ‘Onneshon’ was finally released in 2005 under the label of G-Series, and it went on to become one of the major albums of that year. The album instantly stood out and generated a lot of attention with several of the songs proving to be major hits with the audience. With the release of 'Dhushor Bhabona' (2006) and 'Joyoddhoni' (2007), Nemesis earned mainstream recognition as both the singles went on to be included in the capital’s most popular FM station Radio Foorti’s Top 100 Singles Charts. The band recorded their second album ‘Tritio Jatra’, six years later being released in 2011 under the label of Dead Line Music (DLM) sponsored by Cat’s Eye. The first single from the album ‘Kobe’ was released in Radio stations earlier in the 2011. In late 2011, they released the music video of their hit song ‘Kobe’ which was produced by Studio Bangi. In 2012, Maher Khan and Omayr Khan left Nemesis and were later in the same year replaced by Zerif Ahmed and Zeheen Ahmed. In early 2013, Zeheen took a break from the band and was replaced by Zafir which is the present permanent line up of the band. ‘Tritio Jatra’ got nominated for The Best Band Award of 2011 (Popular Choice and Critic), The Best Sounding Album Award and Best Music Video Award (‘Kobe’, Studio Bangi) for the Citycell Channel I Music Awards where Nemesis won The Critic’s Choice - Best Band Award. There lineup took one final change as Zerif left the band and Rafsan joined the band. The band released their third and most recent album on 10th May ,2017 after 6 years. The album received positive review from all the fans. With this album they settled with their sound that is now they are more blues rock than alternative and all the band members were happy with the album. The ten songs on the album mark a departure from their older songs in the way that all the songs have a particular and serious meaning behind them. The album can be streamed in iTunes and Spotify. During the years, Nemesis had been engaged in numerous concerts and events largely concerning social awareness issues amongst other relevant affairs. Of these, the events well worth a mention are: ‘Say No To Drugs’ concert in Gulshan Youth Club (2008), ‘Save the Children’, ‘Stand up Against Poverty’ concerts in the Dhanmondi Amphitheater (2009), ‘Vote for Sundarban’ concert at the Army Stadium organized by BAMBA (2010) and the UNDP sponsored 'Say No to Violence Against Women' organized by BAMBA (2011 and 2012),charity concert arranged by Bangladesh International Recovery Developments(BIRD) (2017),charity concert for the Rohingyas at Sir John Wilson School in Dhaka, called Salvation(2018), BAMBA Concert for Autism Awareness (2018). 3) A Chilean Hip Hop Group, consisting of Cenzi and Seo2. They put out one record through Sony Music Chile and another through Cenzi's label, Aguasonica. They are still active as solo acts, and will one day do their third album. 4) A Scottish nationalist rockband. 5) The metal Band from Bandung, Indonesia. Started from the band's childhood fantasy, Nemesis always dreamed about being some crunchy rockstar. The five of them are highschool student with the same liking in music. They always been motivated with previous success bands in their glory times. For that cause, they set out a band called Tears Came Falling, mostly playing influental incisive metal style, combining Caliban, As I Lay Dying, It Dies Today, etc. Their past line up are Rangga on vocal, Sahid and Sendi playing guitars, Regha on bass, and Dei on drums. http://www.myspace.com/nemesisdeathall 6) A Korean rock group (Correct tag: 네미시스): Ha Se Bin (EVE) was in this group before he joined EVE for EVE's 6th and 7th albums. The drummer for Nemesis is also the support drummer for EVE's 7th album. They are in currently in both bands, although Nemesis is on hiatus. OHP: http://n-sis.co.kr 7) A Hungarian progressive metal band. They changed their name to Age of Nemesis in order to avoid consusions. They have a couple of albums out, and are one of the best prog metal acts of Hungary. Albums: Nemesis (1998), Abraxas (1999), Eden? (2002), Psychogeist (2006) and Terra Incognita (2007). The latter two are released as AoN already. 8) An Australian act mixing ambient, Industrial, noise and black metal. 9) A Finnish ambient electronic band: Formed in 1987 and has released records on Belgian Antler Subway records as well as on Finnish Spinefarm's Freeride label. The band is currenlty active, releases are distributed through Origo Sound, Synth Music Direct and by Nemesis themselves. They were formed in 1989 and are currently active. 12) An American alternative rock band: Previously know as NEMESIS, the band opted to change the name to NEMESIS ARMY to avoid confusion with other acts called Nemesis. 13) An American pop/dance duo: Nemesis includes twin brothers Jacob & Joshua, currently starring in MTV-LOGO's reality show "Nemesis Rising" (named after their forthcoming album). The first single is "Number One In Heaven," which spent several weeks atop the LOGO "Click List" weekly top ten video countdown. 14) An Acoustic/rock/metal band from Sri Lanka formed in 2005. The band was formed in late 2013 in Belgrade, influenced by non-other than Arch Enemy. During the first meet-up the band though it would be great to be an all-girl band. Band was originally creating their style by playing covers of their favorite bands but shortly started working on their own material. Band played a lot of concerts and bigger happenings in Serbia. In May 2016, Nemesis published their first official video and a single “Vengeance”. This song is part of an EP that is being mixed at the moment with other songs like “Living Dead People, Savages and Divine Retribution”. EP should be published at the beginning of 2017.
