Nana Mouskouri (Greek: Nάνα Μούσχουρη, pronounced [ˈnana ˈmusxuɾi]), born Iōánna Moúschouri (Greek: Ιωάννα Μούσχουρη, [ioˈana ˈmusxuɾi] on October 13, 1934, in Chania, Crete, Greece) is a Greek-born singer who has sold more than 350 million records worldwide (Nana was presented with a plaque representing 350 million in sales at her final concert at the Royal Albert Hall in 2009 by her record company), being one of the best-selling female artists ... of all time in a career spanning over five decades. She was known as "Nána" to her friends and family as a child. Note that in Greek her surname is pronounced with the stress on the first syllable – MOOS-hoo-ree – rather than the second. See more [+]
