Kate Elizabeth Voegele (born December 8, 1986) is an American singer-songwriter and actress. She is also known for playing Mia Catalano on The CW TV series One Tree Hill. She recorded a cover of the song, "When You Wish Upon a Star", for the compilation album DisneyMania 6. Voegele's second album, A Fine Mess was released on May 18, 2009. and her third, Gravity Happens, was released on May 17, 2011. Voegele opened for Natasha Bedingfield on her L ... ess is More Tour at select concerts. As an actress, she appeared in One Tree Hill as Mia. She appeared in seasons 5, 6, 7 and 8. The season 8 finale marked her final appearance on the show. Her character did not return to the series. Voegele was born in the Cleveland suburb of Bay Village, Ohio. Voegele attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio through spring of 2007 as a fine arts and psychology major, where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta, leaving to focus on a music career afterwards. Since the spring of 2008, Kate has been taking online classes to pursue a bachelor of science degree in Psychology at the University of Phoenix. She is engaged to professional lacrosse player Brett Hughes of the MLL's Ohio Machine. See more [+]
