Josh Garrels is a singer-songwriter living in Portland, Oregon who self-produces all of his own albums. He is known for vulnerability and authenticity in his music, infusion of traditional folk music with hip-hop elements, and nontraditional exploration of Christian themes. His first two albums are no longer available due to the large amount of copyrighted sampling on them. After marrying his wife, Michelle, in 2005, they started Small Voice Reco ... rds where they released his third, fourth, and fifth studio albums: Over Oceans, Jacaranda and Lost Animals . Garrels released his sixth album in June 2011 titled Love & War & The Sea In Between. It was listener-supported and released as a free download online, and it has been downloaded over 100,000 times.
