Cristiano Araújo Melo (born in Goiânia, state of Goiás, Brazil on 24 January 1986) is a Brazilian singer, songwriter and musician of Música sertaneja. The singer became famous for singles like "Mente pra mim" (2011), "Você mudou" (2012), "Caso indefinido" (2013) and "Maus bocados" (2013). After his EP Efeitos in 2011 and live album and DVD Ao Vivo em Goiânia in 2012, he released his solo studio album Continua in 2013. He is signed to the well-kno ... wn Brazilian Som Livre record label. Career: Beginnings From early childhood in Goiás, Cristiano Araújo was influenced by sertanejo. Clearly having a talent for singing, and coming from a family where that had four generations of musicians and singers, his João Reis and Zenaide Melo encouraged him to try for an artistic career and bought him a guitar while he was 6-years-old. By age 9, he was having public performances, and by 10, he was composing songs. At age 13, he recorded a small album of 5 songs and presented them at Festival do Faustão. His album appeared at #6 in local "região centro oeste" (the midwest) charts and got an offer for including his song on the CD Jovens Talentos. In duo with sister Ana Cristina In the following years, he appeared on television and main events and at 17, formed a singing duo with his twin sister Ana Cristina. During the following six years, the duo recorded many songs and performed together, but failed to have much commercial success. Solo career In 2010, when Araújo was 24, he went solo with a bolder plan appeared with well-established sertanejo acts in preparation for a live CD and DVD. In early 2011, he released a solo EP Efeitos with appearances by Gusttavo Lima, Humberto & Ronaldo and by Jorge (from the famous duo Jorge & Mateus). The EP became a huge popularity online and a tour followed with great encouragement for his career by Jorge, a long-running friend. In the height of the tour, he would perform an average of 20 shows per month to packed audiences. In 2011-2012, in a span of 1 year, he did 117 shows. Very notably he was invited to the famous talk show Domingão do Faustão, which paved the way for fame with the Sertanejo Pop Festival 2012 held in São Paulo, followed by a live album and DVD Ao Vivo em Goiânia with collaborations from well-known acts like Bruno e Marrone, Fernando & Sorocaba, Israel & Rodolffo and João Reis amongst others.
