Chucho is a Spanish pop/indie music band, active between 1996 and 2005. The band emerged after the disbandment, in the middle 90's, of Surfin' Bichos. That band branched into two separate music projects: on one side, Carlos Cuevas and Joaquín Pascual joined Carlos Sánchez and José Manuel Mora to form Mercromina; on the other side Fernando Alfaro started a project named Chucho, together with Juan Carlos Rodríguez García and Javier Fernández. In 19 ... 97 Chucho published their first work, "78", a LP where hallucination mixes with a very personal universe that borders poetic possession. After "78", they published "Tejido de Felicidad" in 1999 and "Los diarios de Petróleo" in 2001, which presents an episodic presentation in what will become a poetic-musical tetralogy that Alfaro combines with his day job at a gas station, hence the surprising title of the work.
