Lyrics of
Mandy

Mandy, originally titled Brandy, was written by Scott English and Richard Kerr. English claimed the inspiration came from a dream he had about his dog named Brandy; in the dream, the dog saved him from drowning. After an unsuccessful attempt to get Barry Manilow to do a cover of the song with its original name (due to a popular song at the time called Brandy (Youre a Fine Girl) by Looking Glass), the name was changed to Mandy. Manilow recorded th ... e song, and it became a big hit, marking his first number one entry in the US. See more [+]

I remember all my life
Raining down as cold as ice
Shadows of a man
Face through a window
Crying in the night
The night goes into
Morning, just another day
Happy people pass my way
Looking in their eyes
I see a memory
I never realized
How happy you made me
Oh, Mandy
Well you came and you gave without taking
But I sent you away
Oh, Mandy
Well you kissed me and stopped me from shaking
And I need you today, oh Mandy
I'm standing on the edge of time
I walked away when love was mine
Caught up in a world
Of uphill climbing
Tears are in my eyes
And nothing is rhyming
Oh, Mandy
Well you came and you gave without taking
But I sent you away
Oh, Mandy
Well you kissed me and stopped me from shaking
And I need you today, oh Mandy
Yesterday's a dream,
I face the morning
Crying on a breeze,
the pain is dawning
Oh, Mandy
Well you came and you gave without taking
But I sent you away
Oh, Mandy
Well you kissed me and stopped me from shaking
And I need you today, oh Mandy
Well you came and you gave without taking
But I sent you away
Oh, Mandy
Well you kissed me and stopped me from shaking
And I need you . . .
