Violet Hill is a song by British band Coldplay and was written by the band members. It was released as the first single from the album Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends in 2008. The song originated from lead singer Chris Martins concerns about political activism and wars. Violet Hill is also the name of a street in London where Coldplay has its studio.
